Financial Trainer

Reporting to the Vice President Finance, Ontario Long Term Care, the Financial Trainer is responsible for researching, developing and delivery of national financial training programs to both the corporate office and field level.

12 Month Contract

The ideal candidates will possess:


  • A diploma or degree in adult education or equivalent experience;
  • Related industry experience (preferred);
  • Required experience in financial training:2 - 3 years;
  • Knowledge of industry specific accounting principles (preferred);
  • Strong computer skills – ERP Software, Microsoft Office (required);
  • Effective communication skills that include strong written, oral and presentation abilities (required);
  • Self-motivated, creative and innovative;
  • The ability to communicate professionally in English and French in both their verbal and written exchanges (preferred);
  • Irregular hours may be required;
  • Travel required. 

Practicing our corporate values of R.E.S.P.E.C.T., the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Delivering training initiatives and programs that support the business strategy;
  • Providing Corporate office and home level training to include:
    Ø  Detailed training on the ongoing transactional processes including AR, AP and Payroll.
    Ø  Providing detailed training on all computerized systems including Yardi – accounting application, PCC – AR software, EZ-Labour – Time & Attendance Tracking, Hyperion – budgeting software and Excel.
  • Liaising with Operations, Finance and Director of Education Services in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant training material based on the requirements of the various areas;
  • Assisting and prioritizing the development of training material for all related training programs;
  • Facilitating the delivery of course content to the defined target audience as required. Developing course content knowledge so as to be able to effectively facilitate course materials;
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting on staff training and development plans and achievements for ongoing evaluation of training being presented;
  • Ensuring all stakeholders are fully informed of educational objectives and achievements;
  • Ensuring education programs are compliant with any and all applicable Acts, Regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Maintaining and updating education documentation and resources;
  • Developing self, and maintaining knowledge in relevant field at all times;
  • Communicating effectively with Operations, Financial Managers and other Finance team members;
  • Aligning closely with Director of Educational Services;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
