Senior Technical Analyst

The Senior Technical Analyst provides (onsite and remote) server, desktop and network infrastructure expertise to special IT projects. He/she may perform general maintenance tasks and diagnose day-to-day issues after go-live. The Senior Technical Analyst works closely with other disciplines within IT, with the Business Project Management Office and with subject matter experts in the performance of his/her role.

This is a 12 month contract.  
 
 The ideal candidates will possess:
 
  • Bachelor degree or college certificate in a related field
  • Preference given to a candidate with technical certifications (CCNA, MCSE)
  • Project-related certification such as PMP, an asset
  • ITIL certification an asset
  • Minimum eight (8)  years of progressive IT experience working in a complex environment spanning many networked locations
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise scope projects for deploying new software and/or hardware to many sites
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of network environments, concepts and technologies including DNS, Active Directory, TCP/IP
  • Good exposure to a wide variety of computing subject areas such as databases, document management, web, workflow, reporting tools, network management, risk management, backup/restore, security
  • Experience in a managed desktop environment (such as Citrix)
  • Experience building and administering virtualized environments
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Windows server environments
  • Proficient knowledge of networking and security concepts as they relate to troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Working knowledge of Canadian privacy regulations
  • Experience supporting cloud and SaaS-based technologies, an asset
  • Healthcare industry exposure, an asset
·         The ability to communicate professionally in English and French in both their verbal and written exchanges is an asset.
Practicing our corporate values of R.E.S.P.E.C.T., the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
  • Complies with all Chartwell and IT policies and works with the IT Security Analyst to ensure that new solutions are developed, maintained and supported with full compliance
  • In conjunction with the Director IT, BPMO and business personnel, assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of new systems and solutions
  • Assist in the creation of test scripts, as required
  • Participate in the formulation of rollout and training plans associated with new solutions and technologies
  • Derive daily backup requirements and work with others in IT to establish appropriate scheduling
  • Devise any applicable procedures for maintaining and administering systems post go-live
  • Analyze and help to resolve client and server-based issues and problems
  • Research new technology and stay up-to-date in technical knowledge
  • Coordinate activities with third-party consultants or vendors, as required
  • Provide direct support to front-line personnel, as required
  • Work with support personnel to derive key metrics regarding the success of a new implementation
  • Provide onsite one-on-one support and training, as required
  • Produce high quality documentation, project plans, status reports, training material, as required
