This position is an exceptional opportunity for a dependable, self-motivated individual with a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience. Putting their strong leadership skills to the forefront, the successful candidate will oversee the laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance departments.
The primary responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
In addition, the incumbent will participate in quality assurance programming audits to ensure that appropriate health and safety practices are being administered in the home.
The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of all maintenance-related issues, including plumbing systems, electrical systems, carpentry, mechanical systems, HVAC, sprinkler systems, and generators. The incumbent must have a clear understanding of the local fire code and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care requirements. The ideal candidate is familiar with provincial health and safety legislation and working within a pre-determined budget, and is a co-operative team player. A current driver’s licence is required. The successful candidate has the ability to professionally communicate English in both their verbal and written exchanges and possesses a secondary school diploma. An Occupational Health and Safety Certificate is an asset as is WHMIS. Experience in a long term care home or a seniors’ apartment building is an asset.
