Chartwell U provides continuing education to employees through a variety of programs offered by both internal and external trainers.

Training sessions provide knowledge and skill development and support our commitment to life long learning. Designated staff members at the corporate office level are trained in the principles of adult education to deliver training seminars in our homes/residences that allow them to share their knowledge and experience in their department area and specialty.

Additional programs offered through Chartwell U include:

  • Mentorship – Chartwell’s Mentorship Program runs from September to June each year and is open to employees at all levels. The goal of the program is to support individual growth and networking through the pairing of a senior employee with experience to an employee seeking professional development and advice.
  • Coaching Culture –  A program that was rolled out in 2009 aimed at introducing and effectively implementing a coaching management style throughout the entire organization.
  • Leadership Conference -- Chartwell’s annual conference for General Managers/Administrators and designated corporate office staff devoted to the growth and development of our senior management team. The conference is focused on best practices, leadership skills and the opportunity to exchange and share ideas amongst peers.
