At Chartwell, our volunteers truly make a difference !

Chartwell values the time, skills and commitment of our volunteers.  

As a volunteer in one of our retirement or long term care homes, you will play an important role in providing our residents with companionship, connection and friendship.  Our volunteers vary in age, in background and in their availability of time.  But one thing they all have in common is their kindness, compassion and a desire to make a difference in the life of a senior.

Our residents are wonderful people with interesting histories and backgrounds.  Be prepared to find yourself looking forward to your volunteer visits whether it’s to partake in one of the home’s many group activities and events or to sit quietly and share stories, reminiscences and memories with individual residents.   

For high school students, your visits may count towards the volunteer hours required for graduation.  Please bring your community involvement paperwork, available from your high school, with you when inquiring about volunteer opportunities.

Co-Op/Internship Opportunities

At Chartwell, we support and encourage the education and development of individuals interested in working with seniors.  Please contact one of our individual locations to inquire about co-op placements and internship opportunities in one of our retirement residences or long term care homes.
